Do you want more Business?

TwitterAccording to a recent survey conducted by Regus, a provider of business services, an increasing number of businesses are turning to sites like Twitter and Facebook to drum up new customs.

In 2010, 33% of companies were successfully winning new customers through social networking activity. A year later the amount has risen to 41%. The increase is happening on a global basis too. 52% of businesses globally are using sites like Twitter to engage, connect with and inform existing customers, the study of 17,000 managers and business owners across 80 countries, found.

Celia Donne, regional director at Regus, said: “Business social networking has finally come into its own in the commercial world. More and more companies are leveraging the channel not only to increase the loyalty of existing customers, but as a successful acquisition tool. As businesses emerge from the downturn they are increasingly reconsidering pre-recession working practices and opting for more flexible, competitive strategies".

Among these, the use of business social media is proving extremely successful and suited to the fast pace of recovery. Particularly in the UK where one in three social network users are a fan, follower or friend of a company page or profile.UK businesses are being encouranged to increase the proportion of their marketing budget to this activity. Two fifths of companies globally and a third in the UK devote up to 20%t of their marketing budget to business social networking activity.

Bury St Edmunds Dispatch Magazine

Dispatch Launches in Bury St Edmunds

As Dispatch Magazine continues to grow, and increases its distribution area, we are very pleased to announce we have now launched into Bury St Edmunds.

This now means we have a combined distribution of 61,000 magazines being delivered every month, giving us an increadable readership of 152,500.

Dispatch Magazine celebrates 10 years of providing community news, and we're all set for another 10!

In 2001 the first ever Dispatch Magazine was published after some tireless work by its original dynamic duo Joyce Gaze (my Mum) and Marilyn Scroggins, who sadly have both past away, but in who's honour we continue with their legacy.

10 years on, after some distinct changes, a complete re-design, over 100 issues produced, and 3 further Magazine launched, Dispatch is now bigger and stronger than it's ever been, and is looking forward to the next 10 years.

Whilst we are always working 2 to 3 months in advance, the entire team at Dispatch are also looking forward to the next 10 years of continuing to provide local community news to the local communities it serves. We're looking forward to continuing to help local businesses grow and prosper, through awareness and marketing via the Magazines and the new channels of promotion we continue to bring on board.

Over the last 10 years Dispatch has grown and earned a well deserved reputation of being Norfolk and Suffolk's favourite and longest established provider of monthly news and events.

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and during the past 10 years, Dispatch has witnessed many other publications, which try, but fail, to imitate our proven and successful format. Many have portrayed themselves to be 'Your' local magazines, who set up, promise great things to readers and businesses, sell cheep ineffective advertising to companies, in poorly designed rags, and then disappeared as quickly as they arrived. Dispatch however, continues to work away tirelessly to remain the leading local magazine, dedicated to serving the local communities in your district.

With our office located in the very centre of the areas we cover, and a fantastic team of professional designers and a sales & promotions team offering a wealth of experience, we are all set to continue to provide more of the same, only bigger, better and in new formats over the next 10 years and beyond!

Dispatch Magazine continues to grow, continues to launch into new areas, and continues to bring local community information to the current 152,500 readers in now has. Dispatch continues to help local businesses grow, and with an ever increasing readership, it continues of offer a larger audience of potential new customers to the local businesses.

Having started in Diss 10 years ago this coming September, with just 3,500 copies being distributed, Dispatch has grown year on year and is now delivered door to door in: Attleborough, Bury St Edmunds, Dereham, Diss, Eye, Haleston, Royden, Scarning, Spooner Row, Thetford, Toftwood, Watton and Wymondham, giving us a distribution total of 61,000 copies every month.

We hope you continue to enjoy Your Dispatch Magazine and enjoy the new issues in the new areas we are continuing to expand into.

We will have a large cake in September to celebrate our 10th Birthday, but until then, here's to the next 10 years of Dispatch. Happy reading !

Business owners get a helping hand

The business that doesn’t advertise itself, is an invisible business.

Unfortunately, in today’s economic climate, if you want consumers to buy from your business, you need your name to be known. Fortunately, advertising isn’t the only way of getting your business name known. Word of mouth is the best, or worst, reputation a business can have. But being listed in a local business directory is a quick and simple way of getting your business name in front of consumers when they’re looking for a tradesman, a business, or a specific service.

The new “Local Business Directory Pages” are free for all businesses to register. Simply add your details online at any time. “We want to make sure our local businesses get as much local business from local consumers as possible;” says Jonathan Horswell. “That’s why we’ve made the local business listings entirely free.”

But if you want to make your business stand out from the crowd, for a small monthly fee, you can choose to highlight your listing making it appear at the top of search results. You can also link to a full page online ad, displaying all the information you’d like consumers to know about your business, and displaying your company logo and pictures.

If you want to ensure you get as much “local” business as possible, you need to make sure you’re listed in the “Local Business Directory Pages.”

And make sure you do your business locally.
